Something is wrong with my order

If you’re experiencing an issue with your order, you must work with the seller to try to resolve the problem.

If you already contacted the seller, and they’re unable to help, you may be able to file a case. A case is a formal way to report and mediate a problem with an order on Avondy. You can file a case if your order wasn’t delivered, or if the item(s) you received wasn’t as it was described on Avondy. Email support@avondy.com for case management assistance.

My location is wrong when estimating

If your location is wrong when estimating your shipping costs on a listing page, you can update your location for shipping estimates on the listing page. Click the dropdown with the current address and change the country and zip or postal code. This will update the shipping cost estimate.

Is Avondy down?

When Avondy experiences a major service interruption, we update our status page. Check the status page for updates on any ongoing site-wide issues.

You can check the shipping status of your order on Avondy.com . If the seller added tracking information, you can check when your order should arrive on the My Account Page.

Here are some best practices to help ensure safe purchases on Avondy or on an Avondy-powered website.

Overall, use your best judgment. If something seems shady or too good to be true, it’s best not to risk it.

Credit card safety

  • Never give your full credit card number, tax identification number, or password in an email, Avondy Message, or over the phone.
  • If you are making a transaction in person, do not speak your credit card information aloud. Be sure to sign for the transaction and request a receipt.
  • Check your credit card statement regularly to track your spending and card activity.
  • Keep track of your credit card: who is authorized to use it, and who has access to it.

Internet/Computer safety

  • Change your passwords on a regular basis. The more complex a password is, the better you’re protected.
  • If you share your computer or device, sign out of any website accounts before letting others use it.

On Avondy

  • Check a seller’s reviews and shop policies before purchase, and send an Avondy Message to a seller before buying if you have questions or concerns.
  • Notify us at support@avondy.com if you see a credit card charge you can’t find in your account. Our specialists can help you investigate it.
  • Keep your transaction on Avondy. We can’t verify or assist with payments made outside of Avondy.com
  • If you receive a suspicious email claiming to be from Avondy, forward it to us at support@avondy.com
  • If you supply materials for a custom order from a shop, you do so at your own risk.
  • In some circumstances, Avondy may use a third-party encryption service, SendSafely, to securely request additional information to confirm a transaction, such as a copy of government-issued photo ID.

Avondy’s Operations team is charged with safeguarding Avondy and its community from financial harm. This includes, but isn’t limited to:

  • Preventing fraudulent purchases
  • Investigating phishing emails
  • Responding to certain credit card disputes
  • Verifying the identity of certain sellers

Secure payments on Avondy

All credit card information sent to Avondy is encrypted using secure socket layer technology (SSL) and stored in a PCI compliant environment. Avondy follows industry standards to protect other payment and personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and after Avondy receives it. For buyers in the EEA, which comprises the EU, Norway, Iceland, and Liechtenstein, you may be asked to authenticate your payment when you place your order in accordance with the EU Payment Services Directive (PSD2).

Chargebacks

A chargeback is when funds are returned to a credit card owner after they report an incorrect or unwanted transaction on their card to the credit card company. Chargebacks are filed for a number of reasons, but in some cases they can be due to fraud. We’ll investigate the dispute to see if it’s valid. If additional information is required from you to resolve the dispute, you will be contacted at the email address you used to open your Avondy account.

If you see unrecognized charges from Avondy on your bank statement, it can be due to a number of things. Please review these scenarios:

I see Avondy on my statement instead of the seller I purchased from

Avondy is a marketplace. When you place an order on Avondy from one of our sellers, Avondy is the merchant of record which means you will see a transaction from Avondy on your statement.

A family member purchased something on Avondy

Often times we find unrecognized charges may have been placed by a family member, friend or coworker who may have had your permission to use your card. We suggest reaching out to any family members, friends or coworkers who may have had access to your financial information or to your device.

How to contact Avondy about the charge

If you are still unable to confirm the charge, please reach out to us directly at support@avondy.com. Be sure to put “Attn: Risk” in the subject line and include the following information that will help us locate the charge:

The name of the cardholder and the billing address associated with the card

The last 4 numbers of the credit card associated with the charge

The exact amount and date of the charge or charges

Once we receive this information, an agent will look into the charge and reply to your email in the next 24 hours.
